After having their 10 game win streak halted by Cal State Fullerton on Friday, the Cal Poly women’s volleyball team rebounded with a three game sweep of No. 21 Long Beach State on Saturday. The Mustangs won the first two sets 25-18 and finished the match with a 25-21 performance in the third set.
Freshman Kristina Graven continued to lead the team in kills with 13, but senior Dominique Olowolafe and junior Catie Smith also registered double-digit kills. Olowolafe had only two errors on 22 swings, giving her a .455 hitting percentage. She opened the match with five kills on five attempts.
As a team, the Mustangs out hit the 49ers in all three sets with percentages above .400 in the first two sets before dropping to .243 in the third set.
Graven added 11 digs for a double-double while Alison Mort led the team with 16. Overall, the Mustangs held a 40-35 dig advantage over Long Beach State.
The team returns to the court on Friday Oct. 8 in Mott Gym at 7 p.m. against UC Riverside.
