Tickets for the Cal Poly men’s soccer rivalry match against UC Santa Barbara officially sold out Thursday morning.
The Cal Poly Athletics Department gave away the last of its 11,000 tickets at approximately 10:35 a.m. on Thursday. Ticket representatives turned away students as they showed up at their office, telling them no more tickets would be printed before the 7 p.m. game in Alex G. Spanos Stadium.
Ticket operations manager Maria Chavez told Mustang News that university police asked Cal Poly Athletics to limit the number of tickets given away ahead of the game because of the stadium’s maximum capacity of approximately 11,000.
In order to control the number of student attendees, Chavez said, Cal Poly is limited in the amount of tickets it can print. No more tickets will be printed, she said.
Tickets were available approximately one month ago, Chavez added, but students only started picking them up in the past two weeks.
