Two of the six suspended freshmen on the Cal Poly softball team have been reinstated and will play in this weekend’s Stanford Nike Invitational, according to the San Luis Obispo Tribune.
Taylor Yzaguirre and Sierra Hyland will rejoin the team while four others — Ashley Tornio, Shawna McDonough, Kiersten Nordin and Courtney Tyler will not play in the tournament.
Despite having just 11 players of their 17-player roster available, the Mustangs went 2-3 in this past weekend’s tourney at Arizona State, which was highlighted by a 6-4 upset of then-No. 8 Oregon.
