1. Mustangs will host Arizona State, Pepperdine and Sacramento State
As the Cal Poly baseball team discovered Sunday night, the school will host its first ever NCAA Regional in history. Sacramento State, Pepperdine, and Arizona State University will all head to Baggett Stadium this weekend.
2. Alpha Phi responds to shootings outside UCSB chapter house
The Cal Poly chapter of Alpha Phi reached out to support its sisters at UCSB. “We did reach out to them and just said to them that we were glad to hear that every member was accounted for, and that if they needed anything from us that we’re here for them, being the closest chapter to them,” Cal Poly Alpha Phi President Bryce Gassner said.
3. CSU Board of Trustees moves Grand Avenue housing project forward
Approval has been granted for the final environmental impact report regarding Cal Poly’s Grand Avenue housing project by the California State University Board of Trustees. The residence hall still needs further approvals for the project to break ground.
4. Cal Poly Fencing Club holds open tournament
Fencers from the surrounding area were invited to Cal Poly this Sunday to compete in a variety of different tournaments.
5. Firm introduces plan to expand University Union
In addition to plans to increase on-campus housing, the Julian A. McPhee University Union could be the next project, as proposed by the program management firm Brailsford and Dunlavey.
