2. Registration system to be revamped, Office of Registrar says
Expect to see changes to the registration process. By Fall 2015, a student’s number of degree applicable units will be a factor in determining registration rotation. “What we want to do is bring a registration rotation system where the students with the most degree applicable units will go in before those students with lesser applicable units,” university registrar Cem Sunata said.
3. Karen Webb moving up as new interim VP of admin and finance
Karen Webb, currently Cal Poly’s associate vice president for administration and finance, will step up as interim vice president for administration and finance.
4. For Safer, new hire brings new opportunities
Safer’s new assistant coordinator, Cheri Love, dove straight into her new position and is loving it. “I’m very excited to be part of it and support it, and see how I can help even make it a stronger program,” Love said.
5. Battling depression, he found someone to talk to
Logan Cooper, an ethnic studies junior, shared his struggle with depression and expressed how talking with the Counseling Center helped him. “It was someone telling me, ‘Those are OK options, it’s not going to be the end of the world,’” Cooper said.
