The No.2 seeded Cal Poly men’s basketball team dropped a 70-66 overtime decision to the No. 7 seed Highlanders of UC Riverside in the Big West tournament quarterfinals at the Honda Center in Anaheim Thursday night. With the loss, the Mustangs concluded their season with a 15-15 record.

It is time for a shorter season in baseball

The Major League Baseball season is way too long as it stands now. As a fan, I do not care about baseball until the postseason nears because the season just drags on. Baseball needs to shorten their season to make the games more meaningful and important and hold interest in the game.

The Cal Poly baseball team pounded out 16 hits en route to a 12-3 victory over visiting Cal State Bakersfield. The win was the third straight for the Mustangs and improved their record to 12-4 in the month of May.

The Cal Poly baseball team (20-31, 10-14 Big West) secured their second consecutive series win with a 11-3 victory over the visiting Pacific Tigers. The Mustangs have beaten the Tigers in 18 of the last 23 games between the two teams.

Mustangs blown out by Davis on Senior Day

The Cal Poly softball team was swept in a pivotal Big West conference series to rival UC-Davis. The Mustangs dropped Game three on Sunday to the first-place Aggies 10-0 on Senior Day at Cal Poly. The loss meant that Cal Poly will not be able to repeat as Big West champions.
