By Laura Hollander’s standards, anything but a top-10 finish is a bit out of the ordinary.
The sophomore cross-country runner finished 75th at the NCAA Championships Saturday, a far cry from her ninth-place finish a year ago. The top 40 runners are named All-Americans, meaning Hollander won’t receive the honor as she did in 2012.

After posting top-10 finishes at the NCAA West Regional this past weekend, Cal Poly cross-country runners sophomore Laura Hollander and senior Chris Frias were selected to compete at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. on Nov. 23.
With strong performances from both senior Chris Frias and sophomore Laura Hollander, the Cal Poly men’s and women’s cross-country teams both earned a top-10 finish at the NCAA West Regional in Sacramento, Calif. on Friday.

The Cal Poly men’s cross country team claimed its 13th Big West Conference title Saturday, while the women’s squad captured its fifth.
