Mustangs unable to capitalize on opportunities in loss

The Cal Poly baseball team squandered numerous opportunities against Houston as the Mustangs left 13 runners on base. The Mustangs lost 6-2 and have now lost their third series of the year at home. The win was the fifth consecutive victory for the Cougars.

Seven run fourth inning dooms Mustangs

The University of Houston pounded out 16 hits and blew open a 2-2 tie with a seven run fourth inning en route to a 13-8 victory Friday night against the Mustangs. The Mustangs tallied 11 hits on the night, but also struck out 15 times. The second game of the series is set for 6 p.m. tomorrow in Baggett Stadium.

Baseball falls in season opener to USC

In the Mustangs’ season opener against USC (1-0), Cal Poly (0-1) pitched a total of 205 pitches en route to their fourth straight season opening loss, Friday night in Baggett stadium.

Mustangs earn first win of the season

Sophomore Mason Radeke pitched six strong innings for the Mustangs who earned their first victory of the season Saturday night by defeating the USC Trojans 10-6 in front of 1,457 fans. Radeke struck out a career-high seven batters on the night.
