Cal Poly university police arrested agriculture systems management student Ryan Holland Friday at 2:42 p.m. near Graphic Arts (building 26) after receiving a phone tip from someone reporting suspicious behavior by the bike racks, University Police Department (UPD) Sergeant Robert Eckrote said.
“Whatever they were doing didn’t look right to whoever saw them,” Eckrote said.
When officers apprehended the “suspicious character,” they found Holland had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for petty theft and assault from Santa Clara County, police said.
Holland was then arrested and taken to county jail, Eckrote said.
He was later bailed out and will face a court date, according to UPD.
