
Former Saturday Night Live cast member Jon Lovitz will be coming to Cal Poly on Saturday night as part of the Welcome Back presentation for students. Lovitz will be performing at the Christopher Cohan Center at 8 p.m.
Lovitz is best known for his off-beat characters on Saturday Night Live, but has also appeared in numerous feature films including “Little Nicky,” “High School High,” “City Slickers” and “A League of Their Own.”
The 49-year-old Lovitz has also worked extensively on television appearing regularly on “The Simpsons,” “Just Shoot Me” and the animated series “The Critic.” The Tarzana, Calif. native has worked with a plethora of SNL stars including Adam Sandler, David Spade and Will Ferrell.
Lovitz’ material is all brand new and will feature a mix of his observations on life, religion and Hollywood.
Lovitz’ opening act will be comedian Jim Short. Short has appeared on Comedy Central and has been a featured guest on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and the “Late Late Show.”
Standard Tickets will only be available 30 minutes before curtain call, but can be purchased for just $5 per seat, with one ticket per student.
Advance tickets for guaranteed seating can be purchased for $33 to $43 at the Performing Arts ticket office, which is open from 10 a.m.to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
