R&B and blues singer Sharon Jones will bring soulful sounds to the Christopher Cohan Performing Arts Center (PAC) on Thursday, Oct. 29.
According to Cal Poly Arts Director Steve Lerian, Jones is one of the greatest blues and R&B singers in the world.
Her group, the Dap-Kings, will be accompanying her on stage. Lerian said the they will be playing a lot of their greatest hits. According to the PAC website, no other band today plays with the rhythm, feeling or “explosive power” as Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings.
“This will be the kind of show where people will have a hard time staying their seats,” Lerian said.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and tickets can be purchased at pacslo.org.
“They may just blow the roof off the PAC,” Lerian said.
