A last-minute goal gave the Cal Poly women’s soccer team a 3-0 Big West Conference record and head coach Alex Crozier his 200th career win Sunday against Cal State Northridge.

The Mustangs (8-6) came off back-to-back wins over Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside to get a 1-0 victory at Alex G.

KCPR and Cal Poly athletics could reunite

If KCPR 91.3 FM listeners tried to find some underground, indie rock to appease an insatiable hunger for music Oct. 4, they would have been disappointed.

In fact, they probably would have taken a second glance at the radio when play-by-play announcers described Cal Poly wide receiver Ramses Barden stretching over a defender, trying to score a touchdown after a 67-yard reception during the Mustangs’ 49-22 win over South Dakota.

If you are a top dog, my advice is to not sit around. Make sure that the appropriate moves are made to protect your top players and ensure you’ll be at the top for playoff time.

Biggest test awaits Mustangs at pyramid

Cal Poly women’s volleyball setter Chelsea Hayes pounded her fist to the floor at Walter Pyramid after losing a two-set lead at Long Beach State in 2006. She knew that a decisive fifth-game loss could hand the Mustangs their first Big West Conference defeat of the season.

MMA following strong on Central Coast

All across America there are mixed martial arts gyms like The Pit in Arroyo Grande, filled with students who want a future in the rising sport of MMA. There was a time, however, when the sport was seen by society as barbaric and inhumane.

So intense were those sentiments that presidential hopeful Sen.

NLCS, ALCS upon us

The division series are over and it didn’t take long to lose the chance of an all-Los Angeles or all-Chicago World Series. None of the series went to five games and all the competitive games were found in one match-up. Hopefully, closer games are on the horizon.

Sigler a freshman sensation
