Boris Novachkov and Ryan Desroches captured individual titles at the Fullerton Open this weekend, as Cal Poly was the only team to have multiple champions. Novachkov posted a 4-0 record while Desroches won five times, four by fall.

Women’s volleyball defeats UC Riverside
The Cal Poly women’s volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with a 3-1 victory over Cal State Riverside on Friday night. The set scores were 25-23, 21-25, 25-14, 25-23.
Santiago out for season with ACL tear
An MRI showed a complete tear of the ACL in Santiago’s left knee, Santiago said the scan revealed Wednesday. That means the player who averaged a conference-high 19.6 points per game will watch the rest of the season from the bench.
Volleyball seeks bid to postseason, travels to UC Riverside
With one game left on the Cal Poly women’s volleyball schedule, the team is forced to play the waiting game. Three consecutive wins cemented the team’s position in third place in the Big West, but they are still out of reach of conference leader Cal State Fullerton and, consequently, without an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Fresh off an 18th place finish in the NCAA tournament, the Cal Poly wrestling team is back with their sights set on a Pac-10 championship. Of the 10 spots in the starting lineup, seven wrestlers garnered rankings in the top 25 in the country including one All-American, and they have the goals to prove it.
Volleyball wins both games in final homestand
The Cal Poly women’s volleyball team wrapped up it’s final home stand with two wins against Pacific and UC Davis over the weekend. Both matches lasted four games, with the Mustangs only dropping the second game in each. The win move the team to 21-7 overall and 11-4 in the Big West.
