Josh falsely asserts that protesting rockets fired into Israel “would have done no good” since the United States does not support Israel as it does the Palestinians. The U.S. has actually given millions in aid to the Palestinians. The U.S. and other organizations have legitimately refused to deal with Hamas ruled Gaza because Hamas will not agree to halt terror, recognize Israel and abide by past agreements.

Marci Palla, you’re my favorite. I think it is a testament to the quality of our newspaper (and by extension our journalism department) that we can have a writer (who can’t spell) such as yourself writing a weekly column about words! For instance, most people would have (correctly) spelled last week’s word as “résumé,” but not you! Now, it may trouble you to know that Wikipedia and dictionary.

Barack Obama has always been able to get people to believe in him.

From the moment he received the Democratic Party’s nomination, there has been much anticipation for this day. The record-breaking inauguration crowd is proof of his ability to connect with people and strategize a genius campaign.

Just days before the inauguration, Obama takes a historic journey to enter Washington, D.C. by train, a symbolic message of his commitment to revitalize the Nation’s public transportation networks. As America aims to wean its dependence on foreign oil, California seeks a federal stimulus plan to support transportation programs, such as the recently passed high-speed rail project as a way to stimulate the states crumbling economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Many of us are (or should be) looking for careers as graduation nears, others are looking for internships and still others just need a part-time job to earn some extra beer money. While you can rely on your rugged good looks to make it through the job interview, you still need something before you can get to the interview phase.

The countdown clocks on every liberal Web site are happily shedding their final hours as George W. Bush prepares to walk out of the Oval Office for the last time as president. On Monday Bush held his last press conference, and for the first time since we met him he showed a reflective side that was almost endearing.

The past eight years have been witness to history in the making. America was attacked on home soil for the first time since Pearl Harbor, two wars were and continue to be waged, the economy has gone through two recessions and the government grew larger faster than any other time in history.

As the Bush/Cheney administration is air-lifted off the roof of the sinking White House, giving the thumbs up sign, we all know better. We all see the results of eight disastrous years.

Who will pay? Will it be only our military families, or people losing their homes, or prisoners who have no rights, or Americans whose phones have been tapped or the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis, Afghanis and Palestinians? Or will George W.

I wrote about the global warming (AGW) debate last week, evoking the predictable feedback and flack, some of it apt and intriguing, some of it silly and sophomoric.

I daresay that it seems to ruffle the feathers of many when a lowly, non-scientist half-wit commoner hazards an opinion on this issue.

One of the main criticisms of Israel is the myth that Jews stole the land from the Palestinians. Never mind that there was no official nation called Palestine before Israel declared independence in 1948. Never mind that there were Jews living in the region far before the great migration after the holocaust, or that much of the land was bought by Jews since 1880.
