New column's perspective unfair to men

Here we go … the new Tuesday column, entitled “The Naked Truth,” is based on two

Dear Mr. Schafer

How nice to see you regurgitate what you have learned in Ms. Foroohar’s biased class.

Response to the "atrocity" of abortion

I read your opinion and respect it, but there are some points which I disagree on.

One that personally struck a chord with me was your last statement about Iranians not discussing the Holocaust as an atrocity. I don’t know where you got this idea or how it relates to the displays really.

Abortion response mostly irrational

Abortion response mostly irrational (March 13)

First of all, I would like to thank Diana Watkins for bringing to our attention that the enormous posters of aborted fetuses do not show both sides of the issue. She is definitely right about that.

That’s pretty much where she stops being rational.

How do you define abortion?

How do you define abortion? (March 13)

I think that the abortion display on campus did an excellent job defining the debate! The dialog must be asking the question, “is the fetus human?” Too often have we Americans sidestepped this.

Logically, if one accepts that the fetus is human, then he or she has as much right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as does the mother.

Sorry Mr. McCarthy

I would first of all like to say shame on your for discrediting an outstanding writer for Mustang Daily. I enjoy Sarah’s articles every week, and when I made the mistake of reading yours, I had to find out the truth for myself behind the calorie scandal.

I failed to find your Web page labeling the calorie count for long island iced teas.

The Naked Truth: Welcome to the Friend Zone

It’s a question we all want to know the answer to, but can we ever really know? Can men and women be JUST friends?

This brings to mind a friend we have. He is slightly lacking in the romance department and he always seems to find himself in the elusive “friend zone.

Harmless typo not so harmless

I just wanted to comment on one of the articles in the March 10 paper. I cannot remember the exact title of the article, and I do not have a copy, but it had to do with the cost of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. The news teaser on the front page said the cost of the war would exceed $27 trillion! Now I know this was probably a harmless typo, but the thing is, it’s not so harmless!

I found this fact hard to believe, so I flipped to the page of the article and read further because I knew there was no way the cost of the war could exceed $27 trillion by 2017.

There's always another side to the story

This is in response to the March 11 letter to the editor titled “Jewish lives not worth mentioning.” I would never condone the ideology that one life valued more over another. Nor do I agree with the few Palestinians who think the only way of sending a message to Israel is through violence.

Baseball: The true American pastime

Lee: No. We want excitement, not a Bonds indictment. They call baseball our national pastime. Yeah, if by “pastime” you mean “something we never do anymore.” Look, I’m a huge baseball fan, but let’s be honest: when was the last time you watched a baseball game? Probably not since October.
