Who could agree with Ann Coulter?

Ann Coulter, an infamous political pundit, has been making headlines with her new book: “Godless: The Church of Liberalism.” In the book, Coulter takes it upon herself to “expose” Sept. 11 widows for who they really are: “These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles; reveling in their status as celebrities.I’ve never seen people enjoying their husbands’ deaths so much.

Zidane not worthy of Golden Ball award

I cannot believe that Zinedine Zidane was awarded the Golden Ball for the best player in the World Cup. Even if he arguably was the best player in the Cup, what he did should have negated him from receiving the award. By giving him this award, he is being glorified while his unjustifiable actions are being overlooked.

Bush unaware of Hungary's political future

President Bush recently returned from his diplomatic trip to Europe, where he spent two days in Budapest, Hungary, helping commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian uprising against Communist tyranny. I followed the president’s trip very closely, as my parents are Hungarian and I have traveled to Hungary many times, and I concluded the president’s ignorance was not exposed with his interpretation of Hungary’s past, but with his interpretation of the country’s future.

Abortions are being used as a form of birth control

I would like to comment on Ms. Kasavan’s letter regarding the “Justice for All” exhibit. In her first paragraph, she states that there were people left feeling more confused and uncertain about where they stand on the issue of abortion…

Stacey Anderson, you're my hero

Let’s face it: the Mustang Daily is becoming boring. Jack Ingram had his moment in the sun, but now he’s repetitive. Brian Eller’s still looking for a way to “Ingram-up” his articles, but they, for the most part, put me…

Don't infringe on my rights and I won't on yours

The anti-abortion exhibits have stirred up the abortion conflict once again on our campus. I have so much to say about the exhibit and about the larger abortion debate that I don’t know where to start! Here are the two…

Men should have a voice in the abortion dialogue

What merit is there in quoting the ruling on abortion in California (1972) prior to the Supreme Court decision on Roe V. Wade (1973)? Although the case mentioned in the article “Students react to controversial display,” People V. Barksdale, denied…

Civility, please

Civility, please As I have read the Mustang Daily throughout the year, I have been disappointed that some letters to the editor, some weekly columns and other communications among individuals in our community are not done in an attitude of…

Students paying for unnecessary new staff

Who’s paying for a former U.S. DOA Undersecretary Adviser? Oh, me! And you! Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t doubt Mr. Jen’s qualification, but I thought we were already paying Baker to do this stuff. Read between the lines.…

Do your part to raise grant money for college students

This week, the California State Legislature will be voting on a bill that directly affects many students here at Cal Poly and others all over the state. The bill, AB 2813, would increase the number of Cal Grants available and…
