Cal Poly’s Christopher Cohan Performing Arts Center (PAC) will open its doors for an event that reveals the deepest secrets and funny revelations from people around the world on Sunday at 3 p.m. Frank Warren’s multimedia event titled “PostSecret” is a display of postcards that people have sent him with their darkest secrets written on them.
Students who have visited the Craft Center in the Julian A. McPhee University Union (UU) may have seen the box and participated, but Warren’s piece has reached far beyond Cal Poly’s campus. The community art project is associated with the International Suicide Prevention Wiki and has helped raise millions of dollars for this cause.
During the event, audience members will be able to see new additions to Warren’s collection, and the cards that were banned from his six best-selling books. If audience members are brave enough to share their own secrets, there is an interactive program during the event.
“We wanted to bring ‘PostSecret’ to Cal Poly because of the topic about people’s secrets and how they relate to young people’s emotions,” Cal Poly Arts Director Steven Lerian said.
Due to the nature of content in this show, it is recommended for ages 17 and older. Tickets are available for purchase through tickets.calpoly.edu and range from $22.40 to $38, but $10 students rush tickets will be available at the door with a Cal Poly ID.
