On Jan. 14, Charles Raymond Bird pleaded not guilty to the charges of felony criminal threats with a hate crime enhancement.
Bird, 20, was detained in connection with a death threat made through a fake Facebook account. The threat was made to SLO Solidarity leader and political science sophomore Matt Klepfer in response to demands made by SLO Solidarity.
Bird, a history student, appeared in court the morning of Jan. 14 out of custody. He entered his not guilty plea and denied the enhancement of a hate crime. He will remain out of custody until a verdict is reached.
The trial is scheduled to begin Feb. 23 at 8:30 a.m.
