The University Union Plaza and Mott Lawn were full of unusual booths Tuesday as PULSE presented “Freaky Fall.”
It’s an attempt to get people “healthy for the holidays and the rest of the year,” said nutrition senior Brooke Horn, who is on PULSE’s nutrition team.
All the teams of PULSE – Nutrition, Thoughtful Lifestyle Choices and Educational Resources on Sexuality – participated to give students a well-rounded experience.
The teams worked on the event for a long time and many members showed up to educate students about all aspects of a healthy life.
“We’ve been planning (the event) from last year’s training until now,” said psychology junior Misha Davies, a member of the E.R.O.S. team.
Students got a treasure map and received a sticker at each booth where they participated. Students with enough stickers were eligible for prizes that included gift certificates to El Corral Bookstore and House of Bread.
In the UU Plaza, the nutrition team gave out healthy treats and featured a guess-the-calorie-count booth and a wheel of trivia.
There was also a drunk-goggle mini-golfing booth and a broom-racing trivia game that tested knowledge of lifestyle choices.
Across the street on Mott Lawn, the E.R.O.S. team busted out some crazy costumes and crazier activities.
They had a “Find the Boo-ty Treasure Hunt” – digging in a sand-filled pool for candy and other surprises – lube tasting, musical chairs and safe sex-themed games like “Pin the (dental) Dam on Sam or Dan.”
