A college-aged male attacked a woman walking on campus late yesterday evening, pulling her from behind into a group of bushes before she escaped, according to police.
In an alert sent out close to midnight Monday night, police identified the suspect as a white male wearing a gray hoodie. The attack allegedly took place on North Perimeter Road near the Sequoia residence hall at approximately 8:50 p.m. The suspect did not speak to the victim, according to a police report posted online.
The victim was able to “struggle with the suspect and escape,” according to the report.
University Housing did not provide any additional information Tuesday morning.
University police urge anyone with information about the incident to call the agency. It also advises people to travel in groups and in well-lit areas, and to report suspicious situations to police.
