This is perhaps the most important election of our lifetime.
But this election is not just about Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.
It’s about what we, as Americans, want our country to look like. Over the last four years, the federal government has intervened more in our lives than ever before and is poised to gain unprecedented levels of control with ObamaCare, nationalization of banks and countless new business regulations.
With a national debt over $16 trillion, $6 trillion of which was added by President Obama, the prospects for America look bleak if we continue down this destructive path.
Cal Poly College Republicans support Mitt Romney for president because he has first-hand private sector business experience and a proven track record of success in turning companies around.
Romney’s demonstrated fiscal competence is something President Obama has yet to display.
In addition, Romney knows how to create jobs and will make this a top priority as president.
With 23 million Americans unemployed, it is essential to have a president that understands the economy and knows how to get Americans back on their feet. As governor, Romney took Massachusetts from 50th to 28th in job creation.
He can and will do the same at the national level. With regard to foreign policy, Romney has made it clear he will not kowtow to our enemies. If elected, his administration would not appease Iran by allowing the country to become a nuclear power.
This rapidly developing threat, which has the potential to destabilize the entire Middle East and forever change the balance of power in the modern world, has been largely ignored by President Obama.
We need a president with character, resolve, high standards, strong work ethic and foresight. We need a president who will stand up for America, defend her and do whatever it takes to ensure she remains the freest and most prosperous nation in the world.
These are just a few of the reasons we support Mitt Romney and believe he should be the next president of the United States of America. Our country simply cannot afford four more years of the same failed domestic and foreign policies.
Let’s turn four more years into no more years.
