Cal Poly now offers new transportation options for students to get home for the holidays.
Transportation & Parking Services is offering a free shuttle to transport students to and from the San Luis Obispo Airport during school breaks.
“Mustang Express” busses are also new this year and will be available for students headed toward the Bay Area, Central Valley or Los Angeles regions during the holidays. Early registration for this service ranges from $44 to $55, depending on which holiday the service will be used for.
“I am from out of state and did not have a car or friends with a car last year, so it made getting to the airport expensive and difficult,” animal science sophomore Reagan Bartholomew said. “This shuttle would’ve helped me out last year and I am definitely going to look into it for my travels this year.”
Free SLO Airport Shuttle
Reservations for the free shuttle is on a first come, first serve basis. Loading starts 30 minutes prior to departure and leaves from the Performing Arts Center (PAC). Each rider is allowed one suitcase and one carry-on.

New this year
The Transportation & Parking Services staff came up with the idea and submitted a business proposal to Senior Vice President of Administration and Finance Cindy Villa for approval of the new programs. According to the Director of Transportation & Parking Services Marlene Cramer, the team also had to get the Mustang Express fee routed through the Campus Fee Advisory Committee for approval.
“We are very excited about these new transportation options for students,” Cramer said. “We wanted to offer students without vehicles on campus more options to commute to and from home to campus during the holidays.”
