Fool’s Gold:
It’s ironic that the trailer for "Fool’s Gold" plays Sting & The Police’s "SOS," as the film is, in itself, a distress call to the world to simply not go out this weekend.

But if Matthew McConaughey’s attractive lure has already pulled you in, then I suppose it’s too late anyway.

Whoever thought "National Treasure" and "The Wedding Planner" could coexist in the same world might as well listen to Lawrence Toppman’s comment: "It’s worst than necessary."

Persepolis:
Seen as the No. 1 competition for "Ratatouille" for the Best Animated Feature Film Oscar, "Persepolis" is surely one of the best animated films San Luis Obispo will ever see.

The art alone is reason to see "Persepolis," which gets its great visual look from its graphic novel counterpart.

On top of that is an inspirational story about a young girl who simply wants to speak her mind. The only problem is she lives in Iran during the Islamic Revolution.

Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show:
While it isn’t every day you get to see a comedy show documentary on the big screen, that doesn’t necessarily mean you need to.

Consisting mostly of a "cast" of unknown comics, including some from "Last Comic Standing," Vaughn’s "film" is about 30 nights of comedy…and supposedly more. The trailer will let you know whether the comedy is good, but whether this deserves big screen attention rather than going straight to DVD is up for you to find out.
