With a 17-point, 11 rebound-performance, senior forward Chris Eversley became the 19th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points and led the Mustangs to a 62-55 win at Cal State Northridge on Thursday night.
The Mustangs (9-14, 5-5 Big West) snapped a four-game skid in the process and scored more than 60 points for the first time in six games.
Cal Poly led wire-to-wire and saw senior guard Kyle Odister hit four 3-pointers for the second consecutive game as he finished with 14 points off the bench. The Mustangs went 5 of 16 from long range as a team and shot 35.2 percent from the field.
Freshman guard Ridge Shipley got his first career start and scored three points for Cal Poly.
The Mustangs next travel to Long Beach State for a Saturday night televised matchup with the 49ers at Walter Pyramid. Long Beach State edged the Mustangs at home 63-62 in the first meeting between the teams earlier this season.
The 49ers fell to fourth place in the conference standings — one game ahead of the Mustangs — with a one-point loss to UC Santa Barbara on Thursday.
Tip-off on Fox Prime Ticket is set for 7:30 p.m.
