A Bakersfield man was arrested on April 4 around 9 p.m. at The Cliffs Resort in Pismo Beach for the attempted murder of his girlfriend. Randal Lee Wilson, 50, was arrested at the hotel without incident and taken to San Luis Obispo County Jail.
Police responded to a 911 call at a vacation home located at 16485 U.S. Highway 1 in San Simeon. According to the victim, Wilson struck her in the face several times, threw alcohol into her face, fired a gun at her and threatened to kill her. The victim, whose identity has been kept confidential, sustained an injury to her right shoulder and was transported to Sierra Vista Hospital in San Luis Obispo.
Wilson fled the location before authorities arrived. A handgun and bullet casing were found at the scene.
Later that evening, police received information that the suspect was registered at The Cliffs Resort. Deputies confirmed at the hotel that Wilson was indeed registered, and made the arrest.
Wilson was booked on attempted murder, false imprisonment, domestic violence, criminal threats, assault with a caustic chemical and sexual battery. His bail is set at $500,000.
