Campus police responded to a call at the Robert E. Kennedy Library Tuesday morning where a female victim reported witnessing a male masturbating at a desk on the fourth floor.
“Three of our officers were in the area and responded to the library within seconds,” University Police Department (UPD) commander Lori Hashim said.
UPD described the man as a white male in his early 50s, medium build wearing a flannel shirt and jeans.
“The suspect exposed himself to her,” Hashim said.
The officers searched the library and were unable to locate the suspect.
“This is the first issue like this so far this year that has been reported,” Hashim said. “But instances like this happen periodically.”
With the case still open, library managers declined to give any information, and the student clerks at the front desk were not aware of the incident. The case is still under investigation with UPD. For now, the public masturbator is still on the loose.
“This is a good reminder that if anyone sees anything suspicious on campus, just call us,” Hashim said.
