Devon Lotito became the Cal Poly wrestling team’s lone national qualifier when he placed second at Sunday’s Pac-12 Championships hosted by Stanford.
The 133-pound sophomore finished second to Stanford’s Ryan Mango when he dropped a 5-2 decision in the finals. Lotito reached the title round by winning his first two matches by major decision. He won the Pac-12 championship at 133 pounds a year ago.
Lotito will compete at the NCAA Division I National Championship March 20-22 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Freshman Spencer Empey placed fourth at 285 pounds, while senior Britain Longmire finished fifth at 125 pounds for the Mustangs.
Cal Poly (74.5 points) finished last in the six-team field, while Oregon State (155.5 points) won its third straight conference title.
