While Cal Poly football coaches and players were openly calling their30-28 loss Saturday night to Montana“devastating” and the like, the day may not have been a total loss for the program.
After San Diego State’s 21-13 loss at Notre Dame,Aztecs head coach Chuck Long was asked by reporters who was better: The Irish or Cal Poly (which beat San Diego State 29-27 in week one).
“That’s a tough question,” Long told them. “It’s hard to say who’s better. They both beat us.”
Apparently South Bend ain’t what it used to be. Still.
