Coming to Cal Poly from across the country, Kathryn O’Hagan took over as the new coordinator of fraternity and sorority life on Dec. 18.
O’Hagan came to Cal Poly from Spring Hill College in Alabama, where she worked with greeks as coordinator of student involvement.
“When I saw this opportunity here, I just kind of had to take it,” O’Hagan said. “Beautiful place, it’s a wonderful campus. I’m starting to get used to the changes and it’s great so far.”
She was in the Alpha Chi Omega sorority at Missouri State University, where she attended undergraduate and graduate school, receiving her master’s degree in student affairs in higher education.
O’Hagan replaced Diego Silva, who worked as coordinator from January 2011 until late November 2013.
“I am grateful for my time at Cal Poly and I miss my Mustang family very much,” Silva wrote in a statement to Mustang News. “I was presented with a great career opportunity at Occidental College which is also closer to my hometown. It was a tough decision but, in the end, this was the best decision for me.”
