Senior guards Ariana Elegado and Kristen Ale, senior forward Taryn Garza and freshman guard Dynn Leaupepe have all earned All-Big West Conference honors in the 2015 season.
Elegado was awarded first-team accolades for the second straight year after averaging a team-high 15.2 points per game while also averaging a conference-high 4.9 assists per game.
Ale and Garza were given honorable mentions in their senior campaigns, with Garza also earning the Best Hustle Award for the second consecutive year. Garza finished second in the Big West with 7.7 rebounds per game, while averaging 7.9 points per game. Ale is the Mustangs’ second leading scorer with 9.5 points per game and was a constant presence in the Cal Poly backcourt, averaging over 30 minutes played per game.
Leaupepe burst onto the scene in her freshman season, immediately making an impact. For her efforts, she was named to the All-freshman team. Leaupepe averaged 8.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, including four double-doubles.
The Mustangs are the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Big West Tournament. They received a first-round bye and will face the lowest remaining seed from the first round on Wednesday in a quarterfinal matchup at 6 p.m. in Titan Gym at Cal State Fullerton. The game can be viewed on ESPN3.
