The Paso Robles Police Department will host a DUI checkpoint and conduct saturation patrols during the California Mid-State Fair today in Paso Robles.
Police will operate the checkpoint from 6:00 p.m. to 12 a.m. Motorists approaching the checkpoint will be notified by informational signs.
They plan to check all vehicles. If traffic volume becomes too heavy to do so, police will choose vehicles to check based on a pre-set standard to maintain objectivity.
Police said that the goal of the checkpoint is to reduce the number of drinking drivers on the road and consequently eliminate fear in motorists and pedestrians.
