The proposed faculty strike has been postponed, as officials from the California State University (CSU) system and the California Faculty Association will announce a tentative salary agreement Friday.
Salary talks resumed Wednesday, when a 48-hour blackout period was announced. White was present at that CFA-CSU meeting for the first time.
CSU Chancellor Timothy White and CFA President Jennifer Eagan will hold a joint conference call Friday at 10 a.m. to announce a tentative agreement on a reopened contract.
The five-day strike, which was set to begin April 13, is postponed pending approval and ratification of the agreement by the CFA Board of Directors and members.
The CSU and CFA leaders will give formal remarks before a question and answer session.
If the agreement is ratified, it will be voted on by the CSU Board of Trustees at its May 24-25 meeting.
