Am I the only one who will miss the weekly laugh from reading Ian Nachreiner’s political column? Every week I read his column and couldn’t help but laugh at his truth, justice and conservative ways. Last week Ian stated that Bush’s policies and decisions have kept America safe for the last eight years.
I admit, it is a fact that we have not had an attack on American soil since Sept. 11, but giving credit to Bush’s decisions is like saying FDR’s decision to place Japanese Americans in internment camps is what kept us safe after Pearl Harbor. The fact that we haven’t had an attack on American soil is not a result of Bush’s policies.
And then again this week I got another good laugh reading how Ian doesn’t believe our country needs remaking. Ian, if you think that the worst economy since the Great Depression doesn’t need remaking or a government who goes to war without the approval of Congress doesn’t need remaking then I truly wonder what you consider a “broken” system.
Finally, a comment on your column’s title. There was no truth to Bush’s reasons to invade Iraq, there is no justice in imprisoning people in Guantanamo Bay without formally charging them, and that is the conservative way.
