A power failure caused Cal Poly’s core network equipment to go down in the data center, resulting in a campus-wide Internet outage. According to Associate Vice Provost for Information Technology Services Johanna Madjedi, the network has been restored and systems are being brought up. Wireless Internet is running, but authentication to wireless still needs to be fixed.
During the outage, the campus website, Cal Poly email and PolyLearn were all down.
Madjedi hopes that most services will be up by mid-morning. She says a PolyAlert is expected to be sent out at 10 a.m. with further updates.
“At this point, just keep going to my.calpoly.edu or PolyAlert or the main Cal Poly webpage,” she said. “That’s where we’ll be pushing out as much information as we can.”
