After being postponed Friday due to weather, the Cal Poly men’s tennis team recorded its second Big West Conference victory of the season against UC Riverside on Saturday, improving their record to 2-0 in conference play.
No. 73 Cal Poly swept UC Riverside 4-0, winning its second consecutive match. The Mustangs were led by sophomore Alex Damiens who had the first win of the morning in two sets, 6-2, 6-1.

Junior Corey Pang recorded the third victory for Cal Poly with an impressive 7-6, 6-0 win over Riverside’s Kyle McCann. Pang hasn’t lost a singles game since Feb. 21, totaling nine straight games.
The Mustangs finished off their dominant victory with junior Ben Donovan’s 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles. Donovan triumphed over the Highlanders’ Julian Ruffin to finish the sweep for the Mustangs
Although matches are normally played to all seven games, both teams agreed to finish after the first four singles games and opted out of the three remaining doubles matches.
