Cal Poly was named one of the hottest and smartest colleges in the nation by College Prowler earlier this year.
The list ranks Cal Poly as the 25th hottest and smartest college in the United States. University of California, Santa Barbara barely beat Cal Poly and placed 24th, and Brigham Young University topped the list.
Included in the list were comments from students who had written College Prowler reviews.
“Beautiful People,” one said. “Cal Poly has a lot of beautiful people. Endless pretty guys and girls to look at and be friends with. The majority of people on campus have an effortless, clean physical attractiveness to them. Many people into staying healthy and fit. In addition, the intelligence, talent and personalities of the students make them very interesting and beautiful.”
Many of the colleges on the list were big-name universities, such as University of California, Los Angeles, Yale University and University of Southern California.
Scores were decided by input from students at those schools. College Prowler averaged lists of schools that students said had the hottest and smartest students. It was “based on approximately 120,000 hot/smart data points taken from about 370,000 surveyed college students,” according to a Business Insider article about the list.
The College Prowler website, which provides student reviews on thousands of universities, creates scores for colleges based on academics, guys’ and girls’ attractiveness, food quality, parking and many other factors. Academic rankings are based on student survey responses, open-ended student reviews and statistical data. Cal Poly received a B+ for academics. As for male and female attractiveness, Cal Poly received an A and A-, respectively.
