The Cal Poly women’s soccer team moved to 9-8-0 (4-2-0 Big West Conference) as it took down UC Riverside (7-6-3, 2-3-1) on Sunday.
The Mustangs were down 2-1 at the half, but were able to complete the comeback with second-half goals by sophomore forward Megan Abutin and junior forward Elise Krieghoff.
Abutin had two assists on the day bringing her total this season to 11, just one away from tying the Cal Poly single-season record.
Krieghoff’s game-winner from 30 yards out puts her in a tie at the top of the all-time goals list in just her third season.
The Mustangs next take the field on Oct. 26 in the next episode of the Blue-Green Rivalry against UC Santa Barbara in Alex G. Spanos at noon.
