The Cal Poly cross-country team notched top-15 finishes in both men’s and women’s races at the NCAA West Regional Championship on Friday.
Freshman Peyton Bilo led the women’s side and finished 12th in the 6K in 21 minutes and 0.5 seconds. She was one of 38 runners from across the country to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships in Louisville on Nov. 21. The top four finishers in each region received automatic bids.
Junior Ashley Windsor finished 62nd in 21:44.7, sophomore Sydney Szabo finished 67th in 21:51.5 and senior Sara Van Dyke finished 89th in 22:16.0 to pace the Cal Poly women’s team, which finished 13th overall.
For the men’s side, junior Nick Woolf led the team for the second meet in a row and took 56th place in 32:13.8. Close behind him were junior David Galvez in 66th (32:24.0), redshirt freshman Garrett Migliozzi in 68th (32:25.2) and Devon Grove in 71st (32.29.3).
As a team, the men finished 12th overall in the 10K.
