For a nearly novel-like, yet insightful interview with Cal Poly senior wide receiver Ramses Barden relating to his flirtation with the NFL Draft last offseason, check out this gem at NFLDraftBlitz.com. There’s even an audio version here.
Among the more interesting angles revealed are the involvement Stanford had in his recruitment and ending up at Cal Poly; that he estimates his 40-yard dash time at roughly 4.5 seconds, and that there were times last year he “thought that (he) had played (his) last game as a Mustang.”
The decision, he added in the interview, was basically 50-50.
He also acknowledged pro scouts’ tendencies to view his games against Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) teams differently than those against Football Championship Subdivision (I-AA) counterparts.
Such a showcase of an opportunity is right around the corner for him and the rest of his teammates, who’ll open this season Sunday night at San Diego State.
For a full preview of that game, check back Thursday morning with the Mustang Daily.
