As Halloween approaches, many activities will be held that will allow you to get your costumes out and your scream on. Poly shows its green and gold
Parents’ Weekend will be held the Friday and Saturday this Homecoming weekend. Tickets for the hike to the Cal Poly P, the Mustang Corral BBQ, the wine tasting and the Homecoming game are sold out, but there will be some free events happening Friday. 10 years later, student's disappearance a mystery
Kristin Denise Smart had been missing for five days when this story was printed on May 31, 1996. It’s been over a decade since that issue was in the newsstands, but very few people have forgotten Kristin Smart. The national media focused their attentions on the local disappearance, making it a high-profile case for a long time.

Fall festivities dot SLO County this weekend
If you’re not a big football person, don’t fret. There are plenty of better things to do in San Luis Obispo County this weekend than obsess over the Horseshoe Classic.
Morro Bay is celebrating its 25th annual Harbor Festival with two days of events. Saturday and Sunday will be jam-packed with activities like the Sand Sculpture Spectacular, Farmers’ Market, beer tastings, an oyster eating contest, the California Seafood Faire and Wine Tasting, a chowder contest and a kids’ carnival with a bounce house and dunk tank.
SLO church graffitied
The San Luis Obispo Police Department is investigating a felony vandalism, which included graffiti and broken lights, that occurred at the Calvary Baptist Church early Wednesday morning.
A police department press release stated that “the vandalism was extensive and involved the spray painting of derogatory comments on a number of walls and buildings on the property.
Perfecting German flirting
In my first month abroad, I have discovered one of the great dichotomies of German romance: flirting versus sex. Now, I understand that flirting and actual sex are two very different things, but last time I checked, flirting is often the first in a series of steps to having sex.
PAC continues celebration of 10-year anniversary
In honor of its 10th anniversary, the Cal Poly Performing Arts Center is offering $5 “rush” tickets to students during its Anniversary Festival Week, which runs from Sept. 23 to Oct. 1.

I was in Puerto Rico last week, laughing and sipping drinks with friends and family, when a man got up on a nearby table and started dancing, spilling his drink all over himself.
