It’s late on a Tuesday night and the halls are vacant at Judkin’s Middle School in Pismo Beach. A light shines from the band room and sound emanates out into the darkness.

To know how to read seems simple enough; I can still remember learning the letters of the alphabet in kindergarten. However, in third grade we had what was called a victory drill book, which I hated with a passion. This book was supposed to teach us to work on our pronunciation of words.

Advice for life after graduation

As some of us are approaching our senior year of college, it’s difficult not to think about life after college. In fact, it’s something most of us keep at the back of our minds. Let’s face it – working an eight to five workday with no chance to sneak in a nap doesn’t sound too appealing.

Fast food gets healthier at Frank's

Saturday morning at Frank’s Famous Hotdogs off is a favorite for families to enjoy pancakes together, while college students sober up to a breakfast burrito, but the restaurant has added a new item to the menu that will make the experience all the better.

Frank’s has been using rice-bran oil instead of soy-bean oil for a little over a month, making its food much healthier than other fast food competitors.
