Memorial bike ride will honor Starkey’s life, passion
A memorial bicycle ride will be held Saturday at Poly Canyon in honor of late Cal Poly freshman Carson Starkey by the Cal Poly Wheelmen Cycling Team.
Starkey passed away last quarter while pledging the fraternity Sigma Alpha Epilson, reportedly from alcohol poisoning.

Library hosts science discussion in library Wednesday
Cal Poly and the Central Coast will see its first-ever Science Café in the Robert E. Kennedy Library this Wednesday afternoon.
Several of these discussion cafés have already sprung up in coffee houses, bars and other libraries around the Bay Area, Los Angeles and the rest of the country, but none in the Central Coast until now.
Art exhibit passes sugar in a whole different way
It isn’t very often when one finds an art exhibit that replace watercolors and sculptures with iMac computer monitors, Saks Fifth Avenue shopping bags and personal quotes made from powdered sugar. This rare occasion has come to Cal Poly in the form of an artist named Marian Bantjes.
