Cal Poly’s theatre and dance department is presenting student directed one act plays. The play festival will be June 6 and 7 in the black box theatre room 212 in the H.P. Davidson Music Center. Showtimes are at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Locally grown plants aid in local recovery
Growing Grounds Downtown, a plant shop nestled in downtown San Luis Obispo, is Transitions Mental Health Association’s program that sells plants from two local farms.Clients work at the store and farms and benefit from horticultural therapy.

Art history professor Sandra Wetzel will speak on the subject of “Art History’s Bad Girls: Courtesans in the Art of China and Europe” at 6 p.m. May 5 in the community room of the San Luis Obispo Library. She will provide an insight into the lives of Courtesans during the Ming Dynasty and Renaissance period.
