ASI Director of Children’s Programs Tonya Iversen announced the ASI Children’s Center’s action plan for improvement, including promoting diversity and increasing the use of instruments for infants and toddlers to promote music and movement.
Provost Robert Koob was a special guest at the meeting, and said that after the inadequate number of classes that were available to students this fall, a plan has been made to supply all departments information on what courses will be needed to meet the demand of next year’s student body once registration numbers come in in May.
Koob also said that if the “trigger” is pulled by the state in December (as a result of insufficient revenues) the CSU system is going to lose additional money. He said that “the betting is that the trigger is going to be pulled.” He added that the release of the governor’s budget in January will be the best indicator of additional budget reductions.
Cal Poly Corporation representative Bonnie Murphy announced that the Subway construction project plans to finish the campus Subway over winter break and will open the first week of January. Murphy also announced that starting next Monday the campus Starbucks and Ciao! will be open until midnight, and VG Cafe will now be open until 2 a.m.
