Administrators will meet this week to discuss the future of the Grand Avenue housing project, according to university spokesman Matt Lazier, and an announcement on the project is expected during the second week of winter quarter.
“I believe this will give us a clearer idea of how the university is going to move forward,” Lazier said.
The project, which would install new residence facilities for Cal Poly freshmen, has received backlash from residents adjacent to campus who have said they are concerned with the possibility of students roaming their neighborhoods.
Cal Poly has been accepting public comments on the proposal since December, and facilities planning and capital projects director Joel Neel said most have been negative.
