The Dean of Students told greek leaders in an email late Tuesday afternoon that they were given a “grace period” to finish hammering out the details on a new party registration policy, and that Cal Poly greek chapters were never on probation.
Both Interfraternity President Dominic Hjerpe and Panehellenic President Danielle Durante said they believed that their organizations were placed on probation after missing a Monday deadline to agree on the policy.
DeCosta did not return multiple phone messages left Tuesday.
According to the email, the new deadline to finish the policy is Friday, and Durante said she is optimistic an agreement will be reached by the weekend.
“There’s no bad blood between us and the administration,” Durante said.
