Singer-songwriter Kate Nash will headline her first show at SLO Brewing Co. on April 15.
“She’s an accomplished singer-songwriter with several British Music awards,” SLO Brew general manager Monte Schaller said. “I’ve been describing her as the Brit queen of indie pop.”
Nash is a perfect choice for fans of Lily Allen or Amy Winehouse, but with a punk-rock edge, he said.
Most concerts at SLO Brew tend to be intimate, in part because of the venue’s size and layout.
“Every artist is different, but most end up mingling with the wonderful crowds after the show so they can take selfies with the fans,” he said.
Schaller suggests taking a date.
“We guarantee you’ll get some serious bonus points,” he said.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door. They can be purchased online through the SLO Brew website or at Boo Boo Records. The all-ages event starts at 8 p.m.
