5. Opposition to new housing project continues
Cal Poly President Jeffery Armstrong’s plan to build a “green buffer” of plants and landscaping between the proposed residence halls and the neighborhood, as well as his plan to hire two additional police officers to patrol the area, was not enough to appease San Luis Obispo residents opposing the housing project at a city forum last month. However, the city ultimately has no formal jurisdiction over the location.
