1. Baseball snags series against No. 12 UCLA with 9-1 victory
Cal Poly’s baseball team claims yet another victory in a series against the No. 12 Bruins.
2. CLA fee increase vote to take place Tuesday, Wednesday
Both Tuesday and Wednesday, College of Liberal Arts (CLA) students will vote on the proposed college-based fee increase of $112. CLA Dean Doug Epperson estimated the supplemental funding would amount to $1 million dollars for the CLA if implemented.
3. ‘Strive and Struggle’ uses newspapers to tell Civil Rights story
“Strive and Struggle” is a moving archive around campus that highlights the Civil Rights movement through old Mustang Daily articles. The exhibit will remain in the Julian A. McPhee University Union (UU) until March 3. A panel discussion will be held Feb. 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the UU (building 65), room 220.
4. ASI Board of Directors members still working on resolution to support greeks
The Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Board of Directors strives to support a resolution in support of greek organizations on the recently passed party registration policy. “The resolution is currently being worked on by a few Board members; we have been meeting and having conversations,” said Connor Paquin, a civil engineering junior and member of the ASI Board of Directors.
5. Career Services reaches out to Cross Cultural Centers
In an attempt to reach out, counselors at the Pride Center and the Gender Equity Center (GEC) hold weekly drop-in times for students less willing to go to Career Services. No appointments are necessary for this opportunity to ask questions, review a resume, gather interview tips and discuss other issues that may deal with discrimination in the workplace.
