The San Luis Obispo Police Department arrested two suspects Monday in connection with the theft of firefighter clothing, department equipment and accessories from a San Luis Obispo firefighter’s civilian car, according to a SLOPD news release.
The vehicle was reportedly in the downtown San Luis Obispo area when broken into.
The two suspects are Esteban Mota, 26, and Casey Cerro, 27.
San Luis Obispo firefighter personnel spotted Mota and Cerro biking away with the items near Caudill Street and Victoria Road. They were later found and arrested near a Goodwill store on Industrial Way.
The suspects were also charged with the theft of various tools from a woman’s car near the Amtrak train station.
The police department will continue to investigate the situation in order to determine if there were any victims.
